Questions on "A Quiet Place" (spoilers)

How did they grow acres upon acres of perfect rows of corn without using a tractor? No way anybody sowed and weeded that much corn by hand.

Those kids would have died so fast in the silo. Grown men die if they fall in a grain-filled silo, the weight of the grain suffocates them, even if they keep their heads out.

Is it a metaphor for today? The "noise" of the internet, media, broadcast, etc., is a kind of monster waiting to eat us. The father is the one who struggles to connect back to the world via shortwave... he's the one who dies, yet he does it as a sacrifice to save the children. BUT - also technology (and the father is even the maker) of the failed hearing device is what saves the remaining family (paired with a good old shotgun!)... so perhaps the technology can be used for good, but we have to discover and apply properly and carefully; Hmmm.....

I actually might want to go see this again with these questions in mind...

Flashback

"I lie awake night upon night wishing he’d actually hit me. "

From My Perfect Pictures and the Pain Behind Them by Reema Zahman, On Narratively.

Oh sister. We are so attached, if only we could all have known instead of feeling so alone.
